Therapeutic Imagery (Healing Visualization) is the mental and creative component of the Holistic Fertility® method. It harnesses the power of mental imagery and creative imagination through specific guided exercises that develop progressively throughout the programme.
It is not simply “positive thinking”, nor is it based on the idea that imagining something is enough to make it happen. It is a structured inner process that helps a woman recognize what continues to weigh on her, work with negative influences and experiences from the past, and create the inner space she needs to move forward.
Gradually, attention shifts from what is holding her back to what she truly wishes to create in her life.
How It Is Applied in the Holistic Fertility® Method
Within Holistic Fertility®, Therapeutic Imagery follows a specific, structured progression. The exercises work sequentially with influences and events from the past, inner release, the formulation of a clear and conscious intention, and important aspects of a woman's experience, such as sexuality and her relationship with her partner.
The process gradually moves towards a visualization focused on the desired outcome: having a healthy baby.
Each exercise continues between sessions, once a day, giving the process continuity and enabling the woman to participate actively in it.
Its Role in Fertility
A prolonged effort to become pregnant can gradually fill the mind with fear, disappointment, previous unsuccessful attempts, tests, dates and the feeling that “I have to succeed.”
Therapeutic Imagery creates a different inner space: it helps a woman distinguish the past from the present, fear from desire, and pressure from what she truly wants.
It is not a treatment for infertility and does not promise pregnancy. It is a structured way of using the mind and creative imagination as an active part of the personal journey towards motherhood.
Mind – Body – Emotion
Within Holistic Fertility®, Therapeutic Imagery does not work in isolation. It represents one of the three dimensions of the holistic approach:
- Mind — Therapeutic Imagery and creative imagination
- Body — Reflexology and Electroacupuncture
- Emotion — EFT Tapping
These three dimensions are addressed together, because body, mind and emotion are not three separate journeys. They are three dimensions of the same woman.
It is not simply about imagining the outcome. It is first about creating the space within yourself to be able to ask for it clearly.
